A grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has enabled us to purchase a glider for our York Soaring chapter just outside of Toronto. This is was the first of four gliders dedicated to the Freedoms Wings Canada program and is currently being adapted with hand controls to make it Canada’s first fully accessible glider.
Our Toronto chapter at York Soaring has recently upgraded its washrooms to fully accessible standards through a grant from WestJet and many of the costs for inspirational flights to the programs below have been covered by TD Securities. We would also like to thank ING Insurance, the A&A King Family, the Wylde Wind Foundation and Suncor for their generous assistance to furthering our cause.

Bloorview Kids Rehab has flown with us for the last two years bringing many their Out and About program kids to our airfield for flights. Camp Quality which supports children coping with cancer has joined us this year to give campers a thrill they’ll remember for a lifetime. Our pilots were thrilled with the reception of so many campers and consequently we extended the number of flights offered to accommodate their enthusiasm.
Community Living Mississauga The Canadian Paraplegic Association of Ontario and KW Access-Ability have been attending our program since its creation in 2003 and we look forward to seeing more participants for Introductory Flights in the 2007 flying season.
