Freedoms Wings Canada comes to Ottawa - July 1 2009
Freedoms Wings Canada will begin regular flight operations from the Gatineau Gliding Club on Wednesday July 1st through until the end of the gliding season (October or November depending on weather).
The inaugural demonstration flight of the Ottawa chapter this year will be flown by the President of the Gatineau Gliding Club at Rockliffe Airport, under the auspices of the Canada Aviation Museum, with Todd Nicholson, the captain of the gold medalist, Canadian sledge hockey team as passenger.
This program of inspirational flights for the physically disabled has been run in a series of annual, one-week events over the past five years, and now it will be possible for people with disabilities to experience the joys of silent inspirational flights throughout the year.
