We’d like to proudly announce the addition of two Freedoms Wings chapters currently growing in British Columbia. Both Vancouver and Vernon are currently providing inspirational flights to people with disabilities and over the winter are expected to have their dedicated Freedoms Wings gliders adapted with hand controls.
After news coverage by Global TV of the Vancouver chapter in action at the Vancouver Soaring Association in Hope, the Canadian Helicopter Company approached Freedoms Wings Canada to design, install and if necessary to certify hand controls for Freedoms Wings gliders in BC. Vancouver is currently using a fiberglass Grob 103 and Vernon a metal Blanik L-13.
Once the hand controls are completed, both chapters will be ready to increase the numbers of inspirational flights for people with disabilities and begin accessible flight training for those who wish to pursue their license, bringing the total number of chapters to four across Canada.
To become involved with a chapter, <a href="http://www.freedomswings.ca/fw/?page_id=9"title="Contact us for more information">click here for contact information .
